Anime what is love

Set in a prestigious private high school, this show depicts some amusingly high-IQ romantic encounters day in and day out. The class president is Miyuki Shirogane pictured at left , and he's the 2nd best student at school, behind the brilliant Kaguya Shinomiya pictured at right.

They have a huge mutual crush, but they're too proud and stubborn to make the first move! So, they try to trick each other into making the first big romantic gesture, and it's so much fun to watch. Also known as Love Com , this series brings viewers a hilarious love square where a rather tall girl and short boy try to help each other launch a relationship with their respective crushes.

Nothing like doing a favor for a friend, right? Of course, things get tangled fast, and each character's feelings and interests soon get mixed up! It's also worth noting that nearly every character in this anime speaks in the kansai-ben Japanese dialect, highly unusual for anime. Nothing like beautiful music to bring people together, right? In this anime, viewers will meet the ambitious and by-the-book violinist Shinichi Chiaki, who longs to become a top star in the music world but has a phobia of both airplanes and the ocean.

So, he's pretty much stuck in Japan for now. He soon encounters the free-spirited pianist girl named Megumi Noda, who takes in instant liking to him, and they launch a friendship.

It takes time for Shinichi to get used to Megumi and her musical style, but when he does, a beautiful romance lataer follows. Your landlady may not the best person to hit on, but once you see the two fall head-over-heels in love with each other, you can't help but root for them. Kyoto is particularly a character that stays with you for long after the anime has finished.

She's a woman battling her own demons. She's a widower who thinks she's incapable of falling in love. Along comes the tenant-charming who meets her in her mess and sweeps her off her feet. It traces the story of a young girl, Nanami Momozono rendered homeless by her father's debt. Unfettered by her woes, she's a sweet little darling who goes out of her way to help strangers. As fate would have it, Nanami saves a man from rabid dogs and her life is no longer the same.

As a token of gratitude, the man kisses her on the forehead before offering his abandoned place to stay. Turns out, Nanami is now a diety and the abandoned place, a shrine. In a weirdly supernatural fashion, she falls in love with her familiar Tomoe a fox. The romance cuts deep as it explores the range of love between humans and nonhumans. It tells Ryuuji's tale, who is nothing near to his delinquent appearance. Same is the case with his neighbour, Taiga who's feisty for her size.

Resting on the 'appearances are the deceptive theme', the two neighbours help each other with their respective crushes. But before you know it, they fall for one another. If you are in for the long-haul, Toradora! Cross Game has successfully attempted all anime genres at once: sports, romance, comedy, and school. It is one of those 'young-love' stories that take you straight back to school. It tells the tale of Kou and Aoba who are foes in the beginning.

The cat and mouse game is a treat to watch. Although Kou is destined to be with Aoba's older sister, that's not how the story goes. Turns out the game of baseball was all that Koi and Aoba needed cataclysm their romance.

Because if someone is in your body, they will learn things about you regardless of how hard you try to keep it a secret. Your life at home, your health, and most importantly your browser history is all up on display now! Let me clarify: we have two opposing gangs and the leaders of said gangs have a son and a daughter, respectively. The series protagonist is a major league shoujo mangaka. Because it also highlights how the pitch-perfect student could have some messed up things in their closet, but how they can also learn to love while being true to their somewhat nasty self.

I mean, the first few episodes feel like they are straight out of Mean Girls or something with how they act. This certainly ruffles up some feathers as high school is awkward enough as it is, let alone when you throw plot twists into the mix.

A girl gets elected president and the boys are less than pleased with her up-tight attitude. Well, that same tyrannical president actually works as a maid. And one of the Chads just discovered this little fact. Basically, our male protagonist really wants a cat. But in Sakurasou, all the oddballs also find their refuge.

A childhood friend is really into her but is a scared to tell her how he feels, and b has his mind set on studying in Tokyo, leaving Tamako behind. The characters seem fully fleshed out too. And most of what happens is natural. So never judge a book by its first pages, I guess.

It focuses most of the time on Hikari Hanazono and Kei Takishima, both brilliant people who excel at everything they do. So she tries her best to beat Kei in everything and anything, while Kei just secretly likes her. Sure, Naruto and Sasuke might have done it first. But it is still very satisfying to see a rivalry turn romantic! And then we have Haru, a semi-delinquent who is full of passion and has a rooster for some reason I really had to control myself not to make the obvious joke here.

Our five protagonists all go for different branches of creativity, with different motivations, ambitions, and so on.

To rephrase my initial sentence: the characters are so well written that you just feel like you are reliving your college years, which just happens to contain a lot of romance hopefully.

But one day they discover something quite peculiar. You see, in the Tokyo of the movie it is a constant downpour, but whenever the female lead prays for it, the sun bursts through those troublesome clouds and shines on us mortals. Will this be a business? What will be the consequences? Is this the long-awaited rival of the Slavic Dodola?

That looks like an intimidating title. And that is not a diss, but rather just a warning that everyone likes everyone in this movie. And they all suck at explaining themselves.

And I truly cannot understand why. And even if that sounds like a turn-off, trust me, somehow it will end up being not quite what you expect. This is the story of Naho, a girl who receives a letter from her future self, warning her to take good care of a new transfer student in order to make sure he sticks around in the future. It definitely takes a different approach than another entry on this list, but both work in their own ways. One of his classmates, Kouko Kaga, begins to fall for him.

However, as Banri's life starts to gel, in steps Nana Hayashida: A former childhood friend and romantic partner.

Though he thinks repressed feelings are returning, Banri isn't sure if they are real or not. This love triangle begins as messy as it started. In addition to this, Haruki is interested in Kazusa but begins to date Setsuna because Kazusa never confesses her feelings. While all of them get along as members of the Light Music Club, the real drama between the three is seen as the anime's plot unfolds, making it one of the most well-written love triangles in anime.

Neon Genesis Evangelion is less known for being a romance anime. Instead, it's renowned as one of the most highly-acclaimed psychological mecha anime in existence if not the best by fans. While most of them know about the tsundere of Asuka and her conflicting feelings toward Shinji, some fans think of the dynamic between him and Rei as a show of affection. She does not know how to process or understand these feelings, however. Whatever side fans are on, they can indeed be considered a love triangle to many.

Despite Subaru saying this to Rem for good reason, it doesn't hurt any less. The love triangle between Emilia, Subaru, and Rem can go on for a long time, as Subaru only has eyes for Emilia in a romantic sense.

This love triangle is a tricky one, as Yona is in love with her childhood friend Su-Won. That is until she discovers that he killed her father and launched a coup d'etat against her kingdom.

On the other hand, Hak Son is her other childhood friend and bodyguard who has been in love with her as well. He simply watched her as she was in love with Su-Won. With the direction Yona of the Dawn has gone it seems apparent who will win in this love triangle. Keita Suminoe has a love triangle between his twin stepsisters Riko and Ako Suminoe. Ako is seen as the token child, helping her mother out with cooking and cleaning, but on the inside, she's a pervert.

Riko is more forward when speaking but has a shy personality. The twins can be told apart by their hairstyles. Kiss x Sis is known for its episode OVA but received a episode side series in Nagi-Asu: A Lull in the Sea gives viewers a love triangle of three childhood friends. The world has been separated between those who live on land and those who live underwater. Her calm demeanor is the opposite of Manaka.

Emotionally driven, she struggles to realize what she really wants at times and ends up crying because of it. Despite this, Hikari still shows a preference for Manaka. She refuses to confess because she knows how Chisaki feels. Kyouko Mogami was manipulated by Shoutarou Fuwa into being his servant to help him further his idol career. Vowing for revenge, Kyouko enters the idol scene starting a new life. Shou, who hides his full name in the series, is stuck up.

While he views Kyouko as a steppingstone, he has genuine feelings for her. Ren Tsuruga is the opposite of being super nice and uses Ren as a stage name. Love triangles can be complicated, but they can become even more so when body-switching is possible. Himeko is the vice president of the Cultural Research Club, giving her a professional aura but she's sensitive on the inside. Iori is the president of the Cultural Research Club and is in love with Taichi as well but refuses to date him because of the body-switching epidemic.

This allows the club members to switch bodies with one another for short periods.
